OBJECTIVES
You can attend our Maxi course whatever your level of experience in the arts is. Our course will help you to learn and excel all the techniques required in the admission exams, to create your own personal style and to create strong routines for time management. Additionally, you will learn about the spirit of our time and the current styles, all which is relevant when designing interesting and contemporary works.
Practicing throughout the year is fun and goal-oriented, creates a strong routine and gives you a sturdy foundation for not only your exams but your studies as well.
COURSE CONTENT
During autumn semester, you will concentrate on the techniques required in the admission exams. During spring semester, you will develop and refine your own personal creative expression.
The course begins by immersing into strengthening your creative expression and developing your own personal style. Some of the central topics include composition, colour, light and shade, the human body, space and design. Your talent will be improved and upheld with weekly homework exercises and feedback sessions. A longer course and regular training will guarantee learning all the necessary skills on a deeper level, as well as solid knowledge about the content of each topic.
Being successful at the university admission exams is a skill in its own right. In order to succeed, you must train for them even if you already possess technical skills in drawing or painting. You need to repeat the right kind of exercises in order to match all the requirements given in the admission exam assignments.
Teaching
The Maxi-course has 26 in-person classes, which include four 45-minute lessons. There are 104 hours of in-person learning which is divided into homework feedback sessions, lectures and class exercises.
During a lesson, you will learn about a specific topic and work on topic-specific exercises either independently or in a group. You will be given homework each week which you will return the following week for an anonymous feedback session with your teacher and fellow students. The feedback is given in the same way as it would in an admission exam situation and you will receive a grade for your work. The course also includes two admission exam simulations, where you get to test your knowledge, your time management and work under pressure in an exam situation.

DIGI-kurssi on suunnattu erityisesti graafisista aloista kiinnostuneille ja muillekin, joita kiinnostaa omien ennakkotehtävien työstäminen digitaalisesti. Yhä useammalle alalle haettaessa voi ennakkotehtäviä tehdä joko kokonaan tai parannella digitaalisesti. DIGI-lisäkurssilla käydään läpi digitaalisen kuvanteon perustekniikoita ja ilmaisua. Opit mm. taittoa, kuvankäsittelyä ja digitaalista piirtämistä.
Jos kuvan tekemisen taitosi on täysin ruosteessa, suosittelemme PIIRTÄMISEN PERUSTEET-kurssia, joka suoritetaan juuri ennen MAXI-kurssia, ja joka kehittää tilallista hahmotuskykyä ja silmän ja käden yhteistyötä pääsykoetehtäviä vaativalle tasolle.
Jos haet ulkomaille opiskelemaan, on PORTFOLIO-kurssi sinulle hyödyllinen. Hyvän portfolion koonti on erittäin tärkeää, koska portfoliolla on näissä hauissa usein todella suuri rooli!
